Saint Basil Academy, an all-girls, private, Catholic, college preparatory high school located in Jenkintown, PA, is looking for a full-time, English Teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. The Academy encourages and empowers young women to be active and engaged learners, and provides an education that is both challenging and supportive.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree/certifications in English
  • High school teaching experience
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Latest knowledge and best practice in pedagogy, curriculum development, technology, and student assessment

Responsibilities include:

  • Teach a variety of courses in English to students in grades 9-12
  • Teach content and skills in grammar, literature, writing, vocabulary, and reading
  • Teach a standards-based curriculum that implements and delivers quality instruction to students
  • Utilize a diverse range of teaching practices to meet needs of diverse learners
  • Plan, evaluate, and revise curriculum, course content, course materials and methods of instruction to meet learner needs
  • Use technology (including online resources and a learning management system) to organize and enhance student learning
  • Collaborate with colleagues on pedagogical approaches and instructional strategies
