A Financial Guide to a Saint Basil Education

Financing an education at Saint Basil Academy is an important investment in your daughter’s future. Our talented teachers, comprehensive programs, and all-inclusive atmosphere allow us to motivate and inspire each young woman as we personalize her experience.

What is Financial Assistance?

Financial Assistance funds are grants that help to reduce the cost of tuition for families who demonstrate financial need. The following factors determine the size of individual grants:

  • Financial need as determined by FAST (Financial Aid School Tuition)
  • Amount of funds available to the school
  • Number of applicants for financial assistance

How is Financial Assistance determined?

Saint Basil Academy uses the services of FAST (Financial Aid School Tuition) to determine need. FAST processes the application and evaluates the financial need of the applicant.

The cost to submit the FAST form is a non-refundable fee of $43.00. FAST will ask for your supporting tax documents, including federal and state tax returns and all W2 and 1099 statements.

How do I apply for Financial Assistance or scholarships?

To be considered for financial aid for the 2020–21 school year, parents must apply using FAST. As part of the application process, parents will use their 2018 W-2 and 1040 tax return to fill out the application. The FAST application needs to be submitted by November 1, 2019 for incoming freshmen and January 12, 2020 for returning students.

Decisions regarding financial aid will be released by the end of November for incoming freshmen and late February for returning students. All applications must be complete to be considered for financial aid. Divorced or separated parents must complete the FAST application either jointly or separately. Financial aid decisions will be made after considering the financial resources of both parents.

FAST instructions for completing the application are available in English & Spanish. To begin the application process, use the link below:

Who receives Financial Assistance?

Families that qualify are eligible to receive need-based financial assistance. Scholarship recipients that qualify may receive need-based assistance in addition to their scholarship.

Is Financial Assistance renewable each year?

You must complete a financial assistance form (FAST) each year. Changes in your financial status and the amount of financial assistance may affect the size of your award.

There is a limited amount of need-based financial aid available. It is important for completed FAST applications and supporting documentation to be submitted by the appropriate due dates for financial needs to be addressed.

How much Financial Assistance can I expect to receive?

Every family should expect to contribute something toward their daughter’s education. Our goal is to meet verified need for those that receive financial assistance. All financial information disclosed by families is confidential. Saint Basil Academy fully supports all anti-discrimination laws and does not engage in any unlawful discrimination.
If your financial situation has changed significantly in the past year, please explain the circumstances in a letter addressed to Saint Basil Academy Financial Assistance Committee. A limited amount of financial assistance is available for needy students.

The Financial Assistance Committee considers the following factors in determining the size of individual grants:

  • Financial need
  • Amount of funds available to the school
  • Number of applicants for financial assistance

We believe in the importance of creating a warm, family-like community, which is the heart of our school, among students, faculty, administration, staff, parents, and alumnae.
