Saint Basil Academy has a Varsity Cheerleading team.

Coach Colleen McNichol

Colleen McNichol is the head coach for Saint Basil Academy’s Cheerleading squad. She helps our cheerleaders pep up the student body and keep the spirit alive during all our games. Colleen graduated from La Salle University in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing. She is currently obtaining her Masters of Science in Nursing at Drexel University. Colleen has shown a passion for Cheerleading for the past 14 years. She started her Cheerleading career at Saint Basil Academy, cheering for the Varsity squad from 2002-2006. McNichol achieved the title of Captain her Senior year. She then continued her Cheerleading career at La Salle University, cheering all four years and becoming Captain Senior year. Her passion for Cheerleading is evident, as she continues being involved through coaching aspiring cheerleaders. She first started coaching Varsity at Saint Albert the Great for two years, then transitioned to Assistant Coach at Saint Basil Academy for another two years. Colleen has served as Head Coach since 2014. Ms. McNichol has helped the team be Bicentennial Athletic League (BAL) Champions in two consecutive years (2013 and 2014). Through her coaching, the girls have also won 1st place in 2014 and 2015 for the Philadelphia Catholic League (Academy Division). This year, they won 3rd place in the Division 1 Small Division with a bid to PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association) State Championship.
