Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors (Elective –fulfills the U.S. Government/Economics requirement) 1.0 Credit

AP United States Government is designed to give students a critical perspective on American politics and our country’s system of government. This course involves both the study of general concepts used to interpret American politics and the analysis of political scientists’ interpretations of the Constitution and the three branches of government.

Prerequisite: Students must have an overall GPA of 3.3, an A- in the previous Social Studies course, and permission of the Social Studies department.
*Students are required to take the AP examination for the course.
