English III – Introduction to British Literature

This course offers a wide selection of literature, covering the works of great writers from the Anglo-Saxon period to the present. Skills in close reading, critical thinking, analytical writing, and oral participation are stressed, as students read both novels representative of selected themes and nonfiction works. Further vocabulary and grammar development incorporated. Writing includes, but is not limited to analytical essays, college essays, the formal research paper, and expository literature-based short papers.
