Juniors, Seniors (Elective) 1.0 Credit

The course will provide students with the scientific principles, concepts and methodologies
required to understand the interrelationships of the natural world. Students will identify and
analyze environmental problems both natural and human-made, evaluate the relative risks
associated with these problems, and to examine alternative solutions for resolving or preventing them. Topics include biodiversity, natural resources, energy flow, ecology, population, energy resources, conservation, global sustainability and policy-making. The SBA meadow will allow for an extension of learning about the environment to take place outside the classroom.
