Mr. Thomas Dagenais

Thomas Dagenais teaches Biology and Anatomy/Physiology/Nutrition in the science department at Saint Basil Academy. Thomas has his degree in biology, having graduated from the University of Illinois in Chicago (UIC). At the university, Thomas was a teaching assistant, where he assisted students in  understanding the concepts presented in lecture, prepared them for exams, and provided hands-on assistance with lab techniques and procedures.

Thomas also conducted independent research in the UIC lab, focusing on aiding in the process of determining the function of the T-box transcription factor TBX2 that is essential for the development of muscles in the C. elegans pharynx. Thomas was awarded the UIC Chancellor’s Undergraduate Research Award (CURA) in January of 2018.
