College Planning Timeline for Each Grade Level

Naviance Student is a secure, web-based college research tool that Saint Basil Academy has been using since 2010.  Naviance is a powerful tool for students and their families to use during the college process.  Our students are introduced to Naviance their freshman year.  Every freshman is given a registration code from which they create a username and password.  This account is accessible to students all four years.  We encourage parents to visit the site with their daughters.  To access Naviance, click here to login.

On the Naviance system, students are able to do the following:

Understand their Learning Styles

  •  Complete Learning Style Inventory
  •  Use information to adapt study habits & classroom skills to maximize learning

Research Colleges

  • Learn about colleges based on specific criteria.
  • Compare GPA and standardized test scores with other accepted students.
  • Maintain a list of “colleges they are thinking about,” and “colleges they are applying to.”
  • Link to each college right from Naviance

Investigate Careers

  • Take personality and career exploration surveys to match interests and personality types to career options (“Do What You Are,” “Career Interest Profile”)
  • Explore career clusters and specific job descriptions, including salary projections and demand forecasts

Build a Resume

  • Create and update college application resume online
  • Update regularly with accomplishments, work experience, volunteer service, awards and academic achievements, and extracurricular activities

College Representative Visits

College admission representatives can now go to to schedule an appointment with Saint Basil Academy.

Saint Basil Academy is happy to host a number of colleges and universities this year as they meet with our students. There is a complete list of colleges visiting SBA on the Naviance website. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these visits and must sign up through Naviance. To do so, select the ‘Colleges’ tab, then click on ‘Visit’ and select the college of your choice. Juniors and seniors are permitted to visit with a school during break or lunch, and only during class if they have received permission beforehand from their teacher.

College Interview Day

Saint Basil Academy is hosting our annual College Interview Day
March 24, 2020. We have over 40 colleges and universities
participating. Each student in the junior class will interview with
five schools of their choice. It is a wonderful opportunity for
college admissions counselors to meet our terrific students. It is
also a wonderful opportunity for our junior students to get
acquainted with the college admissions process. College Interview
Day has had an overwhelmingly positive response from both
students and colleges. We are looking forward to another
successful event!
