Adroit Journal Summer Mentorship Program

Now in its eighth year, The Adroit Journal’s Summer Mentorship Program is an entirely free and online program that pairs experienced writers with high school and secondary students (students in grades 9-12) interested in learning more about the creative writing processes of drafting, redrafting and editing. The 2020 program will cater to the literary genres of poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction.

Caminos Al Futuro

This is a fully-funded /free, selective pre-college and residential summer program for current juniors in U.S. high schools offered by the Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.  During the three-week intensive program, Caminos scholars examine the social, economic, and political transformations affecting the Hispanic/Latino community.  Apply by March 1.

Are you a high school sophomore, junior or senior who is looking for an exciting opportunity this summer? PAN – Physics of Atomic Nuclei

PAN is a FREE week-long program for current high school students. It is sponsored by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Astrophysics – Center for the Evolution of the Elements (JINA-CEE) which is a Physics Frontier Center funded by the National Science Foundation. The program takes place at one of two world leading nuclear physics laboratories: Nuclear Science Laboratory located on the campus of the University of Notre Dame and the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory located on the campus of Michigan State University.

Penn State Honors Music Institute

The Penn State summer music camp (The Honors Music Institute) is one of the most exciting of its kind for talented high school musicians. Now in its eighth year, the Institute is an intensive, week long immersion in the art of music making for talented high school students. As one of the most exciting summer music camps of 2020, specific areas of study include Chamber Choir, Jazz Combo, Wind Ensemble, Music Technology, Composition, and Piano. Princeton Summer Journalism Program

For high-achieving current high school juniors from low-income backgrounds. This no-cost program exists to bridge pathways for students from historically underrepresented backgrounds with an interest in journalism. During our 10-day summer program, we expose students to the range of opportunities available in the field of journalism, introduce them to the basic skills they need to report for their own newspaper and produce a short documentary, take them to visit major news outlets in NYC, and present different perspectives about the kinds of post-secondary preparation required for the work.
