Adroit Journal Summer Mentorship Program

Now in its ninth year, The Adroit Journal’s Summer Mentorship Program is an online program that pairs established writers with high school students (including graduating seniors) and gap year students (high school class of ’20 or ’21) interested in learning more about the creative writing processes of drafting, redrafting and editing. The 2021 program will cater to poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction/memoir, and spoken word. June 21 – Aug. 2. Application deadline: March 22, 2021. More Info

Caminos Al Futuro

Caminos al Futuro is a fully-funded (free), pre-college, a residential summer program for current high school Juniors. This program if offered by the Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute and is help on-campus at George Washington University in Washington D.C. Dates: June 27-July 16, 2021. To apply, you must have a high level of academic achievement and a demonstrated commitment to service and leadership within the Latino/Hispanic community. Application opens Dec. 1. Catholicism and the Common Good @ University of Pennsylvania’s Newman Center

Catholicism and the Common Good is an in-person summer seminar for the Collegium Institute’s Young Catholic Leaders Initiative for advanced high school students from Monday, June 28 to Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Community College of Philadelphia ACE Program

Experience higher education with Community College of Philadelphia’s summer ACE (Advanced College Experience) program. An opportunity that you will never forget, ACE provides college-level courses for highly motivated students going into 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grades.   The 2021 program will be offered online this summer.  More Info


Cornell Summer CATALYST Academy:

CATALYST Academy is a one-week residential program for rising high school juniors and seniors from underrepresented backgrounds who desire to learn about engineering and careers within an interactive milieu. This summer come to Cornell University and find out for yourself at the CATALYST Academy! More Info


DeSales Summer Video Institute

The Virtual Summer Video Institute (VSVI) at DeSales offers students an introduction to the theories of techniques of digital movie making using cellular phones. Each student will create a minimum of two short films and potentially collaborate on a larger scale production. More Info


Drexel Digital Development Camp

The Drexel University Digital Development Camp is a three-week virtual program led by College of Computing & Informatics (CCI) faculty and student leaders. This year’s camp is scheduled for Monday, July 26 through Friday, August 13, 2021. The camp is open to rising high school juniors, seniors and accepted CCI students with an emphasis on building a camper cohort that is demographically balanced. More Info


Drexel Summer Institute

Drexel’s summer academic programs are summer camps open to highly motivated high school students who wish to explore what a university-level program is all about.  Workshops are led by Drexel faculty and utilize Drexel’s labs, facilities, and the city of Philadelphia’s many resources. Costs vary by program. More Info


Exelon STEM Initiative Leadership Academy @ Drexel University

The Exelon STEM Leadership Academy is a free, week-long program held at the Drexel University campus. Young women currently in grades 10 & 11 can apply. Learn from women working in STEM and business leaders. Visit energy facilities. Explore sustainability, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and climate change. Connect with like-minded peers. Girls Make Games

Learn how to design and program your own video game in a safe, collaborative environment!

Girls Who Code

This 2-week virtual program teaches girls the computer science skills they need to make an impact in their community while preparing for a career in tech. Participants will get exposure to tech jobs, meet women in tech careers, and join a supportive sisterhood of girls in tech.  For rising 10th-12th graders. More Info


Harvard Crimson Summer Journalism Academy

The Harvard Crimson’s SJA offers high school students an amazing opportunity to learn from current Crimson staff and get acquainted with media and media-adjacent fields. SJA aims to teach high school students the fundamentals of journalism—reporting practices, writing articles, the non-content aspects of running a newspaper—while providing insight on college journalism through current Crimson editors. Pennsylvania School for Excellence in the Agricultural Sciences – PSEAS

PSEAS is a free, four-week residential program, held primarily at Penn State’s University Park campus for academically talented and gifted high school rising seniors (current Juniors) from throughout Pennsylvania. Apply by Feb. 26, 2021. More Info


Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW)

PFEW is a week-long economics education program for Sophomores and Juniors. PFEW introduces students to the inner workings of modern 21st-century business. Held at Lycoming College and Pennsylvania College of Technology, both in Willliamsport, PA. There is a fee to attend. More Info


Physics of Atomic Nuclei (PAN)

PAN is a free, virtual summer program where high school students are introduced to the fascinating fields of astrophysics, cosmology, and nuclear science through lectures and tours.  July 26-30, 2021.  Application deadline: April 29, 2021. More Info


Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists (PROMYS)

PROMYS is a six-week virtual summer program that in previous years has been held at Boston University. PROMYS is designed to encourage strongly motivated high school students to explore in depth the creative world of mathematics in a supportive community of peers, counselors, research mathematicians, and visiting scientists. Villanova Online Pre-College Summer Academy

The Pre-College Summer Academy is an innovative, engaging pre-college academic experience. The courses, designed and taught by Villanova faculty, are specifically relevant to rising 10th, 11th and 12th grade high school students who will be applying to college in the next couple of years. Each course also benefits from a current Villanova Student Fellow, who helps lead academic and community-building activities. Upon completion of the course(s), students will earn a certificate. World Affairs Council of Philadelphia

The 2021 Summer Global Leadership Seminar, entitled Global Governance, Citizen Activism, and Constitution Building, is a weeklong seminar for high school students interested in domestic affairs, international relations and global politics. This intensive academic experience will give student participants an opportunity to analyze, study and investigate the form and function of various governments throughout the world. More Info
